John McKenna is an Associate Director at Bellandaine with over 20 years of building consultancy and capital expenditure planning experience across Australian, UK, and Irish property markets. Prior to Bellandaine, John held a senior role at one of Australia’s largest property advisory groups, delivering 10-year CapEx programmes, technical due diligence, and portfolio advisory services to institutional clients.
John’s expertise spans multi-site condition assessment, lifecycle cost modelling, risk classification, and institutional-grade reporting. His experience includes major CapEx programmes across aged care and retirement living assets, as well as specialist healthcare work — notably development technical due diligence for a 115-bed psychiatric facility completed in 2023.He has also delivered 10-year CapEx reporting for major university and education portfolios, and retail asset advisory across diversified property funds.
John’s dual qualification in building surveying and property, combined with experience across three markets, gives him a broad technical and commercial foundation that is well suited to complex, multi-building institutional portfolios. He brings to every engagement a rigour and consistency that clients and colleagues find particularly reliable across large-scale programmes.
