Shane Blight is Director of ESG Consultancy at Bellandaine, bringing more than 15 years of building services engineering and sustainability advisory experience across some of Australia’s largest institutional property portfolios. His dual technical foundation — a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from Monash University and a Masters in Environment specialising in Energy Efficiency Modelling from the University of Melbourne — enables genuine engagement with building services infrastructure at an engineering level that distinguishes him from most ESG practitioners.
Prior to joining Bellandaine, Shane spent four years as Pacific Director of ESG Consultancy at CBRE, where he led the firm’s national ESG advisory practice across institutional investors, listed property trusts, and major fund managers. In that role he oversaw GRESB submissions across more than 240 assets and three million square metres of Australian property, guided clients through net zero pathway planning and building electrification strategy, and is widely recognised across the industry as a leading authority on how ESG performance drives asset value and long-term investor returns.
Shane’s work at Bellandaine integrates ESG advisory directly into capital expenditure planning — identifying where planned capital works can be sequenced and specified to deliver measurable improvements in energy performance, reduce operational carbon exposure, and support electrification transitions as mechanical plant approaches end of life.
